Skreytt með pottaplöntum // decor with plants

Þegar ég dreg fram jólaskrautið, fer mikið af dótinu sem fyrir er, niður í geymslu á meðan, 

enda bara gaman  að skipta út og breyta til, en ekki bara bæta við.

En pottaplönturnar sem hafa sest hér að í vetur eru annað mál.

Ekki beint viskulegt að skella pottaplöntunum inní skáp eða í kassa og niður í geymslu....

 jafnvel þó að það sjái nú varla til sólar allann sólarhirnginn hvort eð er í stofunni.

When I take out the christmas decorations in December, a lot of everyday decor go to the storage for a while,

and it is nice to replace and change, but not just add to the decor.

But my plants are another matter.

It´s not so wise to box the plants into storage ....

  even though wee hardly see the sun around the clock anyway here, these days

Svo pottaplönturnar fá bara nýtt hlutverk í Desember.

So my plants just get a new role here in Desember

Grænar pottaplöntur geta vel hentað í jólaskreytingar, 

enda passa þær vel með mosa og könglum í svona nátturulegu skrauti eins og ég er svo hrifin af.

Green plants, like succculents can well bee used in christmas decorations, couse they fit well with moss and pinecones in a neutral decoration as a like the most.

og í silfurskálinni minni sem mér finnst svo gaman að gera nokkurskonar vetrarlandslag kemur þessi græni þykkblöðungur vel út, umkringdur mosa, könglum og fallegu fuglapari.

 það meira að segja snjóaði smá yfir þau.

In my old silver bowl, that I like to make a kind of a winter landscape, this succulent fits well,  surrounded by moss, pinecones and a beautiful bird couple, 

they even had a little snow.

Í gömlu súputarínunni er líka pottaplanta með könglum......

In the old soupebowl there is a pepperonia with cones......

 og hjá henni stendur annað fallegt fuglapar,

En það er bara eithvað við litla krúttlega fugla sem heillar mig um jólin,

and there stands another beautiful birds couple,
I just have this thing about cute little birds around christmas

og þó það sé í raun ekkert jólalegt við kaktus og aloveraplöntu,

þá semur þeim bara vel við  könglana og börkinn á kertaglösunum,

líklega er það bara nátturulegt og gróft yfirbragðið sem sameinar þau.
En það er gaman að nota plöntur í skreytingar í desember.

and although it is in fact nothing Christmas-like with the cactus and aloe vera plant,
they get along very well with cone and the bark-candleglasses,
it´s probably  just the natural and rough style that combines them.
But it is fun to use the plants for decoration in Desember.
